Not a drop of water from any faucet and it is Saturday. Of course, a water emergency happens on a weekend.
This means fun plans for the day are off.
We need to adjust, figure out anything to guide whom to call for help and what professional services to request. Dialing for help, leaving lots of messages, graciously receiving several thoughtful returned calls and welcoming neighbors’ access to their kitchen faucet. Note, we still got a cup of coffee. We profusely thanked the serviceman who chose to show-up Saturday afternoon, servicing our well, water again flowing by the end of the day.
With plans cancelled, we were able to get last minute movie tickets to a new release at our favorite theater.
A day that began with uncertainty and a scramble to have water at home was greeted with many willing to and acting with help. The beauty of their generosity made our day. A big bowl of popcorn at the movies, could not have been better planned.
