Long before a new collection leaves the studio, it already has a name and a focus for how each watercolor painting will connect together and with the world.
Finding it is not quick. I keep a sketchbook with me always. I also jot down words that come during morning walks, while reading poetry, or in conversation with my daughters. Sometimes the right name surfaces months later, almost shyly, as if it had been waiting for its moment.
When I was working on the Nature series, the phrase arrived during an early sunrise. The lake was perfectly calm, a sheet of glass reflecting pale pink clouds. It captured not only the look of the paintings but the feeling behind them: quiet simple, strength and deep with meaning.
A name is more than a label; it is part of the art itself. It sets the mood for the collection, guides the palette, and helps every customer sense the story that lives in the work.
Whether you are naming a business project, a garden, or a new family tradition, give it time. The right name carries heart. It will come when it is ready.
