Every Z’Est collection begins with a small adventure in color.
When I sit at my worktable, tubes of pigment lined up like old friends, I never quite know what shades I’ll create. I dab a little ultramarine, add a hint of black and swirl with water together into a blue that feels like the lake just before a storm. Sometimes a single drop of yellow turns a quiet green into something alive and full of light.
This is the part of the process that feels closest to magic.
I witness more than I direct. The colors teach me how they want to blend, how they play with the water and settle into soft edges. Some mornings I discover an entirely new palette that becomes the heart of a future collection.
Color mixing has taught me to stay curious. It is a daily reminder that beauty often appears when we stop trying to control every outcome.
Next time you pick up a paintbrush, decorate a room, or even set a table, notice the colors that speak to you. What story are they waiting to tell?
